**Meets Saudi Officials
Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, said he had a meeting with Saudi authorities to request a transparent probe into the unfortunate incident in Mina, Saudi Arabia last month that led to the death of more than 740 pilgrims.

Sanusi, addressing pilgrims during a visit to South-South and South-East camps in Mecca, disclosed that Nigeria has already requested from the Saudi Minister of Hajj Affairs a fair and transparent investigation.

The respected Kano monarch expressed confidence that this requested will be granted by the Saudi government, which had already ordered an investigation into the stampede.

He described the unfortunate incident as an act of God, also saying that “all of us have our time. No one can spend more than a second when it comes.”

He said, “Vehicular movements were restricted in parts of Mecca on Arafat and Jamarat days all in an effort to have hitch-free movement to the stone throwing site.

“But unfortunately and as God wishes, there was stampede in one of the road leading to the stoning complex.

“All of us have our time. No one can spend more than a second when it comes. The stampede cannot be stopped by anyone as that is an act of God.” Sanusi said.
