Edo Lawmaker To Quit PDP For SDP

A federal lawmaker from Edo State, Abubakar Momoh, is set to leave the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Momoh, currently a member of the House of Representatives representing Etsako Federal Constituency of Edo State, had lost his bid to grab the party’s ticket for Edo North Senatorial District at the primary to his opponent, Pascal Ugbome.

Momoh only left the All Progressives Congress, APC, in July 2014 for the PDP.

The lawmaker, who expressed anger over his loss at the PDP primary, described the process as being predetermined by the leadership of the PDP.

He is planning to move to SPD with his supporters and hopes to make the party a strong force to be reckoned with in the area.

We gathered that Momoh has been funding the SDP in Edo North and hopes to pick the party’s ticket for his senatorial ambition.
