Following a directive by the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to its members willing to contest in the 2015 general elections to get their nomination forms before deadline, President Goodluck Jonathan has finally informed his party leaders of his intention to buy the presidential nomination form of the party.
Punch reports that the President told his party’s leaders on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that he will obtain his form before the deadline.
“He has also set up a presidential declaration committee saddled with the responsibility of coming up with a formal programme for his declaration,” the paper reports.
The committee is headed Haliru Bello, a former Minister of
Defence and the declaration day is expected to be held between November 7 and 15, 2015.
President Jonathan was endorsed by the PDP consensus candidate for the presidential poll in 2015.
