At Last, Vector Begs Label

Popular lyricist, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun famously known as Vector Tha Viper, has finally apologised to his former music label, YSG Entertainment, which brought him to limelight.

In a letter of apology addressed to his fans and the media, the artiste blamed the press for blowing his misunderstanding with the label out of proportion. Vector, as he is simply called most times, said his inability to release any single in the last 12 months, due to a court injunction against him, has done him and his “fans no good.”

The rapper admitted that the hiatus period has been “the most turbulent of my music career.” Vector, who further admitted that YSG Entertainment “gave me the platform to showcase my talent to the world,” said, “I would also like to apologize to the management of YSG Entertainment Ltd for any embarrassment occasioned by my conduct and whatever damage it may have suffered as a result of the slander and libel as portrayed by the media in this regard.” He said, “These issues were exaggerated by the media.”

He announced that “we have entered into a settlement to have the injunction lifted,” confirming that due to the truce reached between him and YSG, “my Record Contract Agreement with YSG Entertainment Ltd has been aborted.”

Vector disclosed that, “In the spirit of good faith and a show of unreserved commitment to settle these issues amicably out of court, I have sought and obtained permission from the label to pay off the discounted recoupable expenses as contained in the Terms of Settlement in this regards.”

Concluding, the rapper wished “the company well in all their endeavours,” adding that “I hold YSG Entertainment Ltd in high esteem.”
