An oil well belonging to Chevron in Delta State has been destroyed by the Niger Delta Avengers group.
The new militant group disclosed that it blew up the oil facility in the wee hours of Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
The latest attack is coming after the Nigerian government ordered troops out of the Niger Delta region to allow for negotiations.
But the group disclosed that it is not having talks with the Federal Government and warned that the Nigerian government was on its own.
“At 1:00am today, the @NDAvengers blow up Well RMP 20 belonging to Chevron located 20 meters away from Dibi flow Stattion in Warri North LGA,” the group said on Twitter.
It added, “This is to the Gen. public we’re not negotiating with any Committee. If Fed Govt is discussing with any group, they’re doing that on their own.”
