The International Islamic Conference on Peace and Security has been declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The IIC is taking place at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Declaring the occasion open on Thursday, March 17, 2016, the President highlighted the importance of peace in the society.
At the event, Executive Secretary, World Muslim League, Saudi Arabia, Dr Abdullah Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, presented a gift to the President.
Some of the important personalities present at the function were Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Governor of Zamfara State, Abubakar Yari; FCT Minister, Muhammadu Bello; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, amongst others.
