Reports reaching us indicate that former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Adewusi has passed away.
The former police chief was said to have breathed his last on Tuesday evening at the National Hospital, Area 11, Abuja.
Late Adewusi became police IG in 1981 and left office in 1983.
He was born into the family of Pa Abraham Ishola Adeyinka Adewusi and Princess Eyiolawi Abeje 79 years ago in Eggon Local Government area of Nasarawa State, though his father was from Ogbomoso in Oyo State.
At 32, the deceased became a Commissioner of Police and at 45, he was appointed the IGP.
He once served as ADC to the then Governor-General of Nigeria, Nnamdi Azikiwe.
Late Adewusi is survived by his wife and children.
