Election Tribunal: Ambode Floors Agbaje

A petition filed by Jimi Agbaje, challenging the election of Akinwunmi Ambode as governor of Lagos State in the April 11, 2015 gubernatorial poll has been struck out an Election Petition Tribunal headed by Rita Ofili Ajumogibia.

She upheld the victory of Ambode in the election.

Agbaje and Ambode contested in the election under the platforms of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, respectively.

But the PDP candidate wants the Tribunal to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to make available all materials used for the election. This, the Tribunal did not grant the petitioner.

However, Tribunal gave a nod to the request of Agbaje to inspect the materials used specifically for the governorship elections in Lagos State.

In May 2015, Agbaje filed his petition to the Tribunal.
