Some men of the underworld, on Wednesday, stormed the popular Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos, carting away some undisclosed amount of money.
It was revealed to Aproko247 by several eyewitnesses that the armed men robbed some banks in the market, including Mainstream and Skye Banks.
The incident caused unrest in the busy market as men of the Nigeria Police engaged the robbers in a shootout. Shop owners and others they ran to safety for fear of stray bullets from the gun battle.
Preliminary reports say one police officer was killed by the robbers, though this is yet to be confirmed by this magazine.
