Diamond Bank, Lagos Govt Join Forces To Fight Drug Abuse

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Diamond Bank Plc is collaborating with “Lagos State Kicks Against Drug Abuse” (LASKADA), a campaign flagged off under the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development to fight drug abuse in the State’s schools.

Head of Corporate Communications at Diamond Bank Plc, Chioma Afe, who spoke at the inaugural meeting of the sub-committee on education in schools to fight drug abuse last Wednesday, said that the issue of drug abuse had become worrisome and that as such should be tackled aggressively, especially among young children who have suddenly become the target of drug peddlers. She said the bank would be partnering with LASKADA in taking the message to schools.

Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Agboola Dabiri, commended Diamond bank for the good gesture and reiterated the State’s stance on Zero tolerance for Drug Abuse.

Dabiri called on other corporate organizations to emulate Diamond Bank, saying that it would indeed assist the state and the country in fighting the menace.

The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the School Campaign Committee on Drug Abuse comprising of the ministry staff and representatives of Diamond Bank.
