Bayelsa Tax Board Chair’s Son, Fiancee Burnt To Death

An early morning inferno that occurred on Saturday has claimed the life of one of the sons of Bayelsa State Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue, Nimbofa Ayawe.

Also lost to the fire incident was the fiancée of the deceased.

The raging inferno reportedly razed down the building at about 4am on Saturday and those around the area could not do much to stop the fire because of its intensity.

It was also reported that men of the fire service were not on ground on time to control the raging inferno.

According to Leadership newspaper, the unfortunate incident occurred at Ayawe’s home along Okutukutu area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

When the fire occurred, the man was not around and his son and fiancée could not find an escape route.

However, two other occupants of the affected apartment were able to jump through the window to escape the fire.

It is believed that the inferno was triggered by an electrical spark.

Meanwhile, the remains of the victims have been taken to the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.
