The ‘man of God’ who allegedly chained his son with a padlock for about four weeks has been apprehended by security operatives in Ogun State.
The suspect, Francis Taiwo, first fled his church where he allegedly chained the boy, but the police launched a manhunt for him until he was arrested on Sunday.
According to what we gathered, the runaway pastor, who is the man of God in charge of Key of Joy Celestial Church of Christ, Ajibawo area in Atan Ota, Ado Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was arrested with the help of his church members.
Recall that on Friday, operatives of the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, burst into the suspect’s church to rescue his son, Korede Taiwo, 9, where he was tied with a chain and padlock.
He was promptly given medical attention and handed over to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for further rehabilitation.
As at the time he was rescued, the boy was looking malnourished.
