On Friday, July 22, 2016, the Lagos State government finally commissioned the newly built Alade Market in the Ikeja area of the state.
According to what Aproko247 gathered, the ceremony was performed by the wife of Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Bolanle.
Mrs Ambode urged traders in the state to continue to support the administration of her husband, assuring them that all would be well.
Also at the commissioning were the Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Taiwo Abiodun; the Iyaloja-General, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo; APC Women Leader in the Southwest, Kemi Nelson and other prominent persons in the state.
The new market was built after the state government ordered traders at the old location of the market at Allen Avenue to vacate the place, though the traders have kicked against this and have as well taken the matter to court.
