EFCC Quizzes Ex-Bauchi Deputy Speaker Over N500m Fraud

Former Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Sace A Dumba, was on Wednesday grilled by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Aproko247 gathered that the former deputy Speaker was questioned at the Gombe zonal office of the Commission over his alleged role in the sharing of N500 million to 20 local government areas of the state for the re-election of the former president Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.

Also quizzed on Wednesday for the same alleged offence were the former caretaker chairman of Dass local government, Mohammed Suleiman Rabo and former chairman of People’s Democratic Party in Dass local government area of the state.

It was gathered that the bribe money was lavished on PDP stakeholders in all the local government areas of the State by the commissioner for finance, Garba Dahiru, during the administration of Isa Yuguda, the former governor of the State.

They admitted to the operatives of EFCC during interrogation that they signed and collected the said amount from Garba as to deliver PDP in all the local government areas of the State.

They also allegedly told the EFCC that the sharing formula was based on the population of each of the local government in which Bauchi local government collected N48.02 million, Toro collected N32.49 million, while Ningi local government collected N28.25 million.
