Herdsmen Kill Community Leader In Adamawa

Reports say some suspected Fulani herdsmen have murdered a prominent community leader at Farare in Gorong village area of Girei Local Government area of Adamawa State.

The victim, named Haruna Ayuba, was reportedly killed in an ambush by the suspected herdsmen.

It was said that Ayuba was attacked on Sallah day on his way to Faware.

The incident happened five days after suspected Fulani militants raided the same village and carted away goods worth millions of Naira.

Community leaders of the 13 villages in Girei LG area of the state at a Press Conference in Yola had accused Governor Jibrilla Bindow’s administration of insensitivity to their plight following series of attacks inflicted on the community by Fulani militiamen.

A relative of the deceased has appealed to the State government to take proactive steps and provide security in the area.
