Lagos Cocktail Week Holds Again

Organisers of the Lagos Cocktail Week have concluded plans to stage the second edition of the event, which made its debut in 2014.
The festival, scheduled to take place from November 9-14, 2015, was first introduced in 2014 by cocktail enthusiasts and Lara Rawa, who doubles as the CEO of Eventi Cocktails.

It was created to showcase the best of Lagos Cocktail Culture with close similarity to cocktail weeks that hold in major cities around the world.

The week-long event aims at providing individuals, businesses, corporations and global brands a platform to interact, connect and share brand value.

In the 2015 edition of the festival, there will be exhibitions, master classes, tastings amongst other side attractions and activities.
The maiden edition tagged, ‘Eventi Cocktail Weekend’, was held in April 2014 at the Soul Bar, Intercontinental Hotel Lagos. The event saw more than 100 guests in attendance, with a ‘taste-off’ competition between the spirits brand represented.

Highlight of the event was the garnish show where a South African chef showed guests and festival participants how to style a cocktail with garnish in shape of a bird amongst many other great cocktail tricks.

In attendance were celebrities, Lagos State Government, event planners and also the hospitality industry.

Speaking about this year’s festival, Lara Rawa said, “This year, the event has been renamed ‘Lagos Cocktail Week’ and will be different in various ways; for one, we are switching up some of the competitions and encouraging more of our guests to try their hands at making cocktails at some of the different hubs”.

Speaking further, she said, “We are also signing up partnering bars who will offer cocktails at a discount to LCW wristband wearers.

Anyone interested in taking advantage of the promotions and offers happening during the week will need to purchase wristbands from the official hub, The Milano Bar at the Intercontinental Hotel.”

Rawa also said, “A master-class will run for 2 days (November 9 and 13) at the official hub. This is targeted at consumers who are interested in developing their soft skills.

“There will also be taste sessions at designated hubs to showcase both global brands and indigenous Nigerian brands with the closing ceremony scheduled to hold on the evening of the November 14, 2015 at the Intercontinental Hotel Terrace.”
