The kidnapped wife of Deputy Managing Director of Sun newspaper, Steve Nwosu, Toyin, has been released.

The woman was freed on Thursday morning by her abductors after about three days in their den.

Her kidnap had raised reactions from a cross section of Nigerians, who appealed to the kidnappers to free her unconditionally.

It was not clear if the N100 million reportedly requested as ransom by her abductors for her release was eventually paid or not.

The Police in Lagos State had claimed that those who abducted the woman were armed robbers and not kidnappers.

Mrs Nwosu was kidnapped on Monday at her Okota, Lagos home and she was said to have been whisked away through a speed boat stationed at a canal near her home.
