Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, who is now a Senator in the National Assembly, is the new Senate Minority Leader.
Akpabio emerged on Tuesday during the plenary.
The Senate reconvened on Tuesday after a long break.
Also, members of the upper chamber of the National Assembly elected other minority leaders. Senator Emmanuel Bwacha was elected Deputy Minority Leader, while Philip Aduda is now the Minority Whip.
