The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, has said it is not part of the meeting called by former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo.
Tompolo called for a meeting with MEND and ex-MEND leaders on Saturday, July 25, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
But MEND, in a statement, claimed it is not part of the meeting.
The group said it totally supports the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and said it appreciates his resolve to “probe the immediate past Goodluck Jonathan administration, which should also include the office of the Ex-President, the former First Lady and the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme.”
