Two armed robbery suspects were gunned down by officers of the Nigeria Police on Thursday night in Port Harcourt during a gun duel.
It was learnt that the policemen ran into the suspects at about 8:15pm along the Aluu/Airport Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and involved them in a gun battle. The gunmen had blocked the road when an Anti-Robbery Team of the police got to the scene.
Two of the suspects died as a result of injuries sustained during the shootout, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The police recovered from the armed robbers one Pump Action gun with cartridges, two Revolver Pistols with ammunition.
