Buhari Tells APC Lawmakers To Obey Party's Instructions

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised legislators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the National Assembly to accept the party’s supremacy in the interest of democracy.

Buhari, delivering his opening speech at the ongoing meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the APC in Abuja, said the lawmakers should shelve their personal interests and respect the party’s decisions for peace to reign.

In his words, “What ever your personal interests, put them in your pocket. Let APC work. Let the system work. I appeal to you to accept the superiority of the party. I cannot confine myself in Sambisa forest and refuse to participate in the meeting because I respect the superiority of the party.”

He warned the lawmakers not to jeopardise the confidence reposed on them by the electorates and work with the party, which is ready to fulfil the promises it made during the campaigns.

The President said the party cannot afford to fail Nigerians, who trusted them to bring change to them.
