Dangote To Create More 38,000 Jobs In Lagos

This news will excite thousands of job seekers in the country as the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has indicated his interest to provide more jobs for them, especially those living in Lagos.

Dangote told Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to his office in Alausa, Ikeja, that very soon, about 38,000 job vacancies would be available by his companies, which will not only be filled by residents of the ‘aquatic city’, but from other job-seekers living in other states of the federation.

The Africa’s richest man told Ambode that he plans setting up industries in Lagos, which will absolve 38,000 people. He said these include a gas station to supply 24-hour power supply to the state, a refinery to refine about 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day and the construction of a fertilizer plant of two to three million tonnes of Uranium and Amonia in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Ibeju-Lekki.

He said, “We will have challenge in getting people to work there, because at the height of it, there will be close to 38,000 people working at the same location, this is something that we have to partner with the state government.”

Dangote stressed that, “Having 38,000 people on one site, not every one of them will be from the community, others will be from other states, there would be cultural issues and all that, we need to integrate everybody to ensure that the whole thing works out fine.”
