The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, NIPC, Mrs Saratu Altine Umar, has been relieved of her duty.
Umar was sacked on Monday by President Goodluck Jonathan.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, disclosed that her removal is with “immediate effect.”
A part of the statement pointed out that “President Jonathan thanks the out-going Executive Secretary/Chief Executive for her services and wishes her well in her future endeavours.”
Meanwhile, the President has approved the appointment of Mrs Uju Aisha Hassan-Baba to replace Umar.
Before now, Hassan-Baba had served as the Director-General, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria; Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Anambra State; and Director, Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
