Friday, May 1, 2015, will linger on in the mind of several guests that turned out for the maiden edition of Laff Xpress, an initiative to create great fun and excitement by one of Nigeria’s fast-rising comedians and comperes, MC Ayanfe.
Those at the event were reluctant to go home because of the undiluted fun they were served with by MC Ayanfe and his friends in the showbiz industry.
The show, powered by MTN Nigeria, started at about 6pm and ended three hours later, but not without making a positive impact in the lives of the guests.
Many fun-seekers shunned the pain of fuel scarcity in the country to turn out at the Ara Hall in Ibafo, venue of the show, located on the popular Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Laff Xpress was the first big comedy show held in the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway axis.
Several other entertainers like Simply Saka, MC Coded, Laff Doctor, MC Bleach ensured guests had a swell time.
MC Ayanfe, whose real name is Abel Oladokun Asogba, explained that he decided to stage the show in Ibafo, Ogun State and not Lagos, to basically allow people in the area to have time to relax without going too far.
“I will continue in my quest to bringing laughter and excitement close to the people. I am excited by the turnout and I hope we will get more sponsors next year,” the comedian said.
Speaking on why MTN Nigeria chose to sponsor the event, Adeyemi Odubayo, Trade Marketing Consultant (TMC), Ogun State, said the telecom giant is poised to see that it help upcoming artistes to achieve their dreams.
“MTN Nigeria remains committed to improving individual and communal lives through social investment projects that nurture people’s inherent abilities, care for and respect people’s dignity and help create economic value in their lives,” Odubayo disclosed.
MC Ayanfe has assured his fans that the next edition will be bigger and better.
