INEC Extends Continuous Voter Registration By 2 Days

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, in six states of the federation has been extended by two days.

This information was contained in a press statement issued by media aide to the INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, Kayode Idowu.

Idowu stated that the extension became necessary following complaints that trailed the exercise during the period earlier schedule for the registration.

The Commission had set aside November 12 to 17, 2014 for the CVR, but there were complaints of inadequate Direct Data Capturing Machine and poor power supply to register the prospective voters.

INEC disclosed that the exercise will now be wrapped up on November 19.

The affected states are Edo, Imo, Kano, Lagos, Ogun and Plateau States.
