Head driver to Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Mairuwa, has been slain by some unknown gunmen. Late Mairuwa was assassinated on Saturday morning near Tudun Adabu along the Obi-Keana-Awe road.
The deceased was on his way to his village in Keana local government area of the state when he was killed. The gunmen reportedly shot him at close range in the presence of his wife, who was with him in the vehicle.
Nasarawa Police Command spokesman, Umar Numan, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the Police are doing everything possible to apprehend the killers of the governor’s aide.
Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased has since been taken to his hometown and will be buried shortly according to Islamic rites.
Late Mairuwa was the head of drivers in the Nasarawa State Government House in Lafia, the state capital.
