Falcons Conquer Africa Again, Beat Cameroon

Super Falcons of Nigeria, on Saturday, defeated their Cameroonian counterpart to lift the 2014 African Women Championship cup for the 7th time since the competition’s inception in 1998.

The Nigerian team had beaten South Africa by 2-1 in the semi-finals of the tournament hosted by Namibia to book a place in the final with Cameroon.

However, two goals from Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoola ensured the Falcons reclaimed the title Equatorial Guinea won in 2012.

With the 2014 win, the Falcons now have the highest AFC crowns; seven. They will have the chance to represent Africa at the World Cup.
