Boko Haram Abducts 60 Women

Suspected members of the terrorists group called Boko Haram have kidnapped about 60 women, reports say. The women were seized from two villages in Adamawa State some days after the Nigerian government claimed it reached a ceasefire deal with the Islamic militant group.

It was reported that the women were abducted in Madagali few days ago. A security official, who begged not to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, was quoted to have disclosed that the whereabouts of the kidnapped women is yet unknown.

Boko Haram is still with over 200 schoolgirls abducted over six months ago in Borno State and it was reported that the group would free the girls after the purported ceasefire truce was sealed some days ago.

The insurgents reportedly entered Madagali with motorcycles and vans, shooting sporadically in the air and destroying properties.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army authorities are yet to comment on this development.
