Tragedy was let loose on Tuesday in Asaba, Delta State capital, when some suspected armed robbers shot dead an actor in the Nigerian movie industry, Clems Onyeka.
According to reports gathered by our reporter, the actor was hit by a stray bullet from the gunmen, who allegedly robbed in the area the actor. The unfortunate incident took place on Tuesday afternoon.
Aproko247 learnt that after the actor was hit by the bullet, he fell to the ground and was quickly rushed to the hospital by some sympathisers, but died afterwards.
An eyewitness told our reporter that the gunmen had tried to seize a bullion van around DBS road in Asaba and allegedly shot sporadically at people in the area. Some passers-by were reportedly injured in the incident.
His demise was greeted with shock in Nollywood and many have described the late actor as an easy going dude.
Clems has acted in several Nigerian films. Though his name was not popular during his lifetime, however, his face was very prominent in home videos.
Meanwhile, this magazine has gathered that the police in Delta State have commenced investigation into the murder.
