There was a mild drama at the Glass House secretariat of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, on Monday as the impeached president of the country’s highest football body, Aminu Maigari, resumed office.

Before his arrival to the secretariat on Monday, Maigairi’s former vice-president, Mike Umeh, who has taken his ex-boss’ place in an acting capacity, had arrived the Glass House. But this did not stop Maigari from occupying his former position on Monday.

It would be recalled that last Friday, there were controversies over a purported order from the Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, that Maigari should resume to office on Monday.

FIFA has said that Maigari should preside over the Federation’s election, which holds on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

According to Danagogo, the embattled NFF boss was directed to resume because of the FIFA’s order.

However, Umeh has kicked against the move, claiming the board was not carried along.

As at the time of filing this report, both Maigairi and Umeh are still claiming to be the real NFF president.

Meanwhile, Maigairi has denied resigning from office.

More details later.
