P-Square Confirms Brawl, Publicist Denies Publicity Stunt Reports

A member of the P-Square group has admitted that there was actually a fight in their family.

The entertainment industry in Nigeria was boiling for the past days over the split rumour of the sensational music group. It was also speculated that Globalcom Limited, which signed the artistes as its brand ambassadors, had threatened to cancel the singers’ contracts with them if they eventually split.

Taking to Twitter, one half of the multiple award-winning group, Peter Okoye, confirmed that they had a misunderstanding among them, just like every other people, but that the issues were later amicably resolved. He added that they are now back together shooting a video for their new single, Testimony.

“We quarrel and argue just as u all do d same with ur siblings and families. Psquare is no exception. We r also human, we ve settled our differences. And it has made us stronger! Thank u all for ur support and prayers.

“Back to work…. On set for Testimony video shoot and Phyno ft P2 O Set,” Peter posted in a series of tweets.

Meanwhile, publicist of P-Square, Bayo Adetu, has vehemently denied ever granting an interview to Icon Weekly, which quoted him as saying the brawl was a publicity stunt.

In a press statement released on Wednesday and made available to Aproko247, Adetu stressed that, “I never said the rumour was a publicity stunt”, describing the viral interview as “a misconception on the part of the writer.”

He stated that, “there is no way I could have granted an official interview and speak in such denigrating manner as being portrayed by the magazine in question.”

“I can remember talking to Star FM and NTA2,” he admitted, explaining that “it is on record that I never spoke in such unprofessional manner!”

Adetu concluded that speaking in such manner would “amount to toying with the emotions of P-Square fans. I cherish the fans more than Diamond and therefore, I will never disrespect or toy with their emotions.”
