Some suspects have been apprehended in connection with the killing of an elected women leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.
On Saturday, March 29, 2014, the party in the state held its ward primaries and the deceased, Hadiza ‘Yarauta, emerged as the women leader in her ward, Morai, but was later attacked that day by some aggrieved party members. She later died after incident.
The Zamfara State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Lawal Abdullahi, who confirmed the arrests to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Gusau on Saturday, disclosed that the suspects are presently co-operating with the police in its investigation.
Abdullahi further said that the matter would be taken to court after the police concludes its investigation.
