Gunmen Invade SSS Abuja Headquarters

Reports reaching us indicate that exchange of heavy gunfires occurred around the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday morning between some gunmen and security operatives. Several gunshots were heard in the area.

It was also learnt that the headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, in Asokoro District of Abuja, which is adjacent to the Villa, came under attack too.

‘Most residents of the area were asked to stay indoors by security personnel during the gun battle,’ one of the residents informed our reporter.

However, we gathered that the incident was an attempted jailbreak at the SSS office, but we could not confirm this before publishing this report. The incident was said to have lasted about one hour before it was brought under control.
