Ejigbo 2: Victim Seeks Death Penalty For Suspects

One of the three victims of the Ejigbo pepper torture of February 2013 identified as Nike, has advocated death penalty for those behind the jungle justice meted out on her and two others.

Twelve-year-old Nike, speaking at the public hearing ordered by the Lagos State House of Assembly to investigate the ugly incident, narrated that one of the victims, who was without a shirt in the viral video, clamped down on her because she refused his alleged advances.

“The people that kill somebody, they use to kill them,” Nike said at the hearing when asked what punishment should be given to the perpetrators.

Also at the hearing, which was witnessed by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the teenage girl identified three of the suspects captured in the video.

Nike disclosed the identity of the man who wore jeans in the video as Tirin, the man who wore native attire (ankara) as Jibola, the third man as Abolore and Baba Oja.

She also said that she witnessed the murder of a certain person by the said men at the same location where she was tortured with her family members.
